Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal Launches a 'Crane Watch' Map That Tracks New Development

New development is on the rise in the Twin Cities, not only on the residential side of things but also when it comes to new hotels, shopping complexes, and various other commercial projects that are continuing to reshape the Minneapolis-St. Paul region.

Recently, the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal launched an easy and efficient way to track large-scale new construction projects in the area with a tool they’re calling Crane Watch.

What’s essentially an interactive map that pinpoints planned or under construction developments, Crane Watch only highlights projects over $25 million, which means each development featured is about as high profile as it gets for the Minneapolis-St. Paul market.

Among some of the many residential projects that are already active on Crane Watch are the the 14-story, 374-unit Legacy Condominiums that are being built at 121 12th Avenue South; the 285-unit Prospect Park Senior Living housing complex at 3033 University Avenue SE; the 4-story, 163-unit Legends of Apple Valley senior housing complex; the two-tower Estelle Edina condo development; and roughly a dozen large-scale apartment projects that are completely reshaping the Twin Cities rental market.

To keep current with what’s being built in the Twin Cities, or for additional information about a large residential or commercial development you’re interested in tracking, visit the Business Journal’s interactive Crane Watch map.
