Yess Yoga
Address: Yess Yoga, 23 E 26th St, Minneapolis, MN 55404
Lucia Yess has a background in social work and was planning to be a counselor, social worker, or a therapist. She certainly wasn't planning on opening a studio and teaching yoga full-time, but that's exactly what she did. She found a great community that she really connected with in South Korea while completing her teacher training but struggled to find that same connection after returning home to Minneapolis. She was disappointed with the small number of locally owned yoga studios, so she decided to open her own. Yess Yoga focuses on community and inclusivity and offers a variety of class pass options for different needs.
Yoga-Sol
Address: Yoga-Sol, 21 5th St NE, Minneapolis, MN 55413
The team at Yoga-Sol doesn't believe that yoga should be exclusive. Their goal is to make yoga affordable for everyone, and they work on a donation-based, pay-what-you-can system. There are no membership fees; just a lot of love in the heart of Minneapolis. They offer a wide variety of workshops and classes as well as organized events for people of all ages and abilities. Yoga-Sol was started by the husband-wife team Flor and Peter Frey back in 2012 with the core values of Kindness, Passion, Wellness, Creativity, Simplicity, Quality and Community.
Core Power Yoga
Address: Core Power Yoga, 501 S Washington Ave Suite 200, Minneapolis, MN 55415
CorePower Yoga has three locations in Minneapolis, including one in downtown and two further out on either side of the Mississippi, so you'll never be too far from one of them. CorePower is designed to really break a sweat and get a good workout, and they offer hot yoga with added humidity for anyone wanting to give that a try. CorePower has the advantage of convenience and structure, and they offer retreats and teacher trainings for those wanting to get into teaching. First-time students get their first week free, so it costs you nothing to give them a visit.
One Yoga Studio
Address: One Yoga Studio, 721 W 26th St, Minneapolis, MN 55405
One Yoga Studio is a nonprofit with the goal of creating health equity in the greater Minneapolis area. They have a sliding scale for low-income households so everyone has the chance to get involved in yoga. They have an entry offer of $30 for 30 days of unlimited yoga and offer both beginner-friendly and more advanced classes. Their programs for Vinyasa, Mysore Ashtanga, and Kundalini are more vigorous, and they have a whole offering of gentler classes like Hatha, Restorative Yoga, Meditation, and others.
