Forbes recently announced their list of “America’s 15 Best Cities for Young Professionals.” Minneapolis-St. Paul was named to the list in the tenth spot!

- Des Moines, Iowa – Median Salary of $51,200 and an Unemployment rate of 4.5%
- Raleigh, NC – Median Salary of $56,500 and an Unemployment rate of 5.1%
- Omaha, Nebraska – Median Salary of $51,400 and an Unemployment Rate of 4.1%
- Salt Lake City, Utah – Median Salary of $54,200 and an Unemployment rate of 3.9%
- Madison, Wisconsin – Median Salary of $51,500 and an Unemployment rate of 4%
- Boise City, Idaho – Median Salary of $49,600 and an Unemployment Rate of 5.1%
- Provo, Utah – Median Salary of $51,000 and an Unemployment Rate of 3.8%
- Austin, Texas – Median Salary of $56,900 and an Unemployment rate of 4.5%
- Denver, Colorado – Median Salary of $56,000 and an Unemployment Rate of 5.7%
- Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota – Median Salary of $55,800 and an Unemployment Rate of 4.7%
The Minneapolis-St. Paul area also has a 2.2% job growth rate and nearly 40% of the population has a bachelor’s degree. This area was named to the list because the cost of living is low, the influx of new jobs and the high average salary.
The list includes many cities you may not be expecting, but these are the areas in the United States with job growth, plenty of college graduates and a lower cost of living. Larger cities, such as New York and Chicago didn’t make the list because of the high cost of living and the higher unemployment rates.
