Neighborhood Spotlight: Downtown Minneapolis Real Estate

North Loop

Located in the Warehouse District, the North Loop sits northwest of central downtown. The area is great for those looking to live near Target Field. Residents enjoy coffee shops, art galleries and restaurants in this area. Many of the buildings in North Loop are on the National Register of Historic Places, as well.

Elliot Park

This is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city. Most of the homes have been renovated into luxury condominiums making this a popular area for young professionals working downtown. Elliot Park is full of churches, includes a university, a medical center and is very culturally diverse.

Downtown West

Downtown West is full of high-rise buildings and residential buildings. This is the place to go for shopping, cultural attractions, restaurants and luxury condos. It’s also home to Orchestra Hall, Downtown Minneapolis Farmers Market, and Nicollet Mall.

Downtown East

Downtown East is full of loft condos and luxury apartments. People love living here for beautiful river views, downtown views, and being right next to great attractions. Downtown East contains Mill City Museum, MacPhail Center for Music and Guthrie Theater.

Nicollet Island (East Bank)

This is the area for those looking for historical homes. There are also many upscale condos and apartments in Nicollet Island. Students at the University of Minnesota often live in Nicollet Island.

Loring Park

Loring Park also offers historic homes and old brick apartments. The highway is very accessible from this area and it’s close to the Walker Art Center and the Minneapolis Convention Center.
