Restaurant Spotlight: The Local

If you want to experience the old world charm of the Irish with great food, classic dishes and plenty of fun, The Local is the spot for you. It was opened in 1997 and has provided nearly two decades of great food and drinks to the area. The 80-foot bar provides beautiful hand-carved back bar chairs. You can enjoy the Whiskey lounge or one of the many other rooms, as well.

Come in and enjoy rooting for the Minnesota sports teams or come in just for a great drink. The largest volume of Jameson Irish Whiskey in the world has been poured at The Local for the past four years in a row. They also feature Finnegan’s, Guinness and so much more.

Sports

Every week fans come in to watch all kinds of games. You will hear fight songs and see plenty of jerseys as the many fans come in to enjoy Guinness, Harp, Kilkenny and so many other beers. Whether you enjoy soccer, football, baseball or another sport, you will find it here.

Many of the items are very classic and there are plenty of Irish dishes, too.

Location and Hours

The Local is found at 931 Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis. They are open from 11am to 2am, Monday through Friday and from 9am to 2am on Saturday and Sunday. Come in for a game or just for a meal and a pint. You can enjoy catching the bust or the light rail to get to The Local any day of the week.
