The Original Pancake House is Maple Grove, Minnesota’s favorite place to grab breakfast. Pancakes are a favorite breakfast item around the globe so having a restaurant dedicated to this delicious breakfast treat is amazing.

Back in 1953, Les Highet and Erma Hueneke worked together to combine their knowledge of ethnic and national pancake recipes into one awesome recipe. This was how the Original Pancake House started in Portland, Oregon which eventually grew into 100 franchises from coast to coast.

It’s been voted as one of the nation’s “Ten Best” breakfast restaurants by James Beard. Here is a closer look at what makes The Original Pancake House unique and where you can find it near you.

About the Original Pancake House

The restaurant is a national sensation since 1953. Each location uses only the finest ingredients including pure whipping cream, 93 score butter, fresh grade AA eggs and the finest plump blueberries. You’ll find hard-wheat unbleached flour, large pancake smothered with sautéed apples and cinnamon sugar baked perfectly brown.

Try the Dutch Baby, an oven-baked German pancake with powdered sugar. These are just a few favorites but they also offer a gluten free menu and lunch.

You can find The Original Pancake House located at 6322 Vinewood Lane in Maple Grove. It’s located on the Northwest corner of 494 and Bass Lake Road (County Road 10). They are open seven days a week serving breakfast and lunch from 6am-3pm. Call ahead seating is available and they provide free Wi-Fi.

Menu

Along with delicious pancakes, you’ll find a menu full of egg varieties, Belgian Waffles, fruits & cereals, crepes, potatoes, bacon and so much more. Try an omelette or eggs benedict. For lunch enjoy a sandwich, salad, burger, or a Blackboard Special like caramel banana French toast, cowboy omelet, crab cake benny and raspberry kijafa crepes.

Come see why everyone chooses the Original Pancake House for breakfast in Maple Grove or Minnetonka.
