What $1 Million Buys in Minneapolis in 2016

Every home buyer out there has a budget, and regardless of how much home you’re able to afford, certain places around the country give active buyers more bang for their buck, which is especially true throughout the midwest. Here in Minneapolis and the rest of the Twin Cities area, we’re certainly not blessed with warm weather all year long or have miles and miles of coastline that provide absolutely breathtaking views for home owners across the region to enjoy.

But the one thing we can hang our hats on here in Minnesota when it comes to buying a new home is, for the most part, affordability. If you’re in the market for a new home or condo, there’s no doubt that what you buy here and also how much you spend will be very different from what you’ll wind up with in cities like New York, San Francisco, or Miami for the exact same price.

Generally speaking, $1 million is widely considered to be in the luxury category in places like Minneapolis or St. Paul, but in many coastal cities, and especially in the cities just mentioned above, $1 million is actually lower than the current median home value as of now. So if you’re interested in seeing just what $1 million buys in Minneapolis, check out the active listings below, which are priced right at $1 million or even a bit below.
