With a ton of playground options in Minnesota, it would be a shame to arrive at one and find that there isn’t much to enjoy. Playdates are a great way for parents to give their children a chance to play with other children and when you arrive at a park and find that there is no playground, you might feel that your kids will be bored quickly.

Playgrounds are perfect for kids because they can kill a lot of time between the slides and the swings but it’s important for parents to know which ones are going to offer a safe experience with plenty of activities. When you’re scheduling a playdate in Minnesota, check out these playgrounds.

Oak Hill Park – 34th Street West at Rhode Island Avenue South, St. Louis Park

Check out Oak Hill Park’s playground. They have a splash pad with colorful sprinklers for summertime fun. They have athletic fields for baseball, football and soccer and in the winter, the kids can use the sledding hill or skating rink.

Lookout Ridge Indoor Playground – 8595 Central Park Place, Woodbury

What do you do when the weather takes a turn for the worse? Luckily there is an indoor playground open all year at Lookout Ridge. There is so much to climb, crawl through or jump on with a child-sized forest, a cave and a tree house. It’s perfect for your children at 48” tall.

North Commons Park – 1801 James Avenue N, Minneapolis

Right in Minneapolis is North Commons Park featuring a brand-new playground with all of your favorites; swings, slides and more. There are sports fields and a basketball court, bike paths and picnic tables. The nearby waterpark features concessions too.

Loring Park – 1382 Willow Street, Minneapolis

Another Minneapolis option is Loring Park. It’s made for kids with endless options for play. Take a swim in the wading pool or bring your pets for the special dog area. There is a beautiful sculpture garden across the street with sculptures to climb on as well.

Lastly, check out Como Park in St. Paul where you’ll find slides, swings, monkey bars, mini-golf and the zoo is nearby.
