Interstate State Park – Highway 8 & I-95, Taylor falls

If you love beautiful views and you want to hike along the St. Croix River, it doesn’t get much better than Interstate State Park. With four miles of trails, plenty of exposed lava, glacial potholes and more this is a great spot for a hike. You can enjoy boating, canoeing and kayaking here, as well.

A very nice place to hike in the metro area, Fort Snelling State Park provides plenty of beauty. You may spot airplanes overhead and even a bald eagle while you hike. If you want to enjoy a bit of Minnesota history, you can take in the historic For Snelling during your hike at the park.

Great River Bluffs State Park – County Road 3 at Highway 61 & I-90, Winona

This is an easy place for families to hike with plenty of quiet bluffs and more than six miles of hiking trails. The self-guided King’s Bluff Nature Trail is one of the top choices for families. You may spot all kinds of animals here including eagles, turkeys, grouse and more.

Superior Hiking Trail – 731 Seventh Avenue, Two Harbors

You may not have the time or energy to hike all 300 miles of the trail, but choosing a specific section may fit perfectly. You can even bring your dogs, if they are on a leash. The trail provides plenty of choices and all kinds of signage to make it easier to hike.
